PAPER BUTTERFLIES

This project was SO much fun!! Initially inspired by these origami that were being made by theatre company Stop, Drop + Roll for an upcoming production. I modelled half of the butterfly in blender, unwrapped and painted the UV before mirroring, lighting and making minor adjustments to the posing.
I watched quite a few slowed videos of - and their flight patterns before animating some different flutters and paths within element and setting them to render in cycles.
In the background, I animated the smaller butterflies within Adobe After Effects using the Element Plug-in.
